e-gate card RAKTop RAK official obtains first e-gate card Ras Al Khaimah: The Ras Al Khaimah Airport issued its first e-card on Thursday making it easier for passengers who now do not have to stand at the immigration counters. The e-gate cardholder now need only swipe the card without having to present the passport at immigration, officials said. The e-gate facility has been operating at Dubai and Abu Dhabi international airports for some time and will be introduced to the other airports nationwide in the coming few days, a senior police officer said. The first e-gate was issued here to Shaikh Salem Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, who heads the Emirate's Department of Civil Aviation. "This new technology makes travelling much easier," said Lieutenant Colonel Sultan Al Nuaimi, who heads the Naturalisation and Residency Department. Lt Col Al Nuaimi explained that to apply for the card one must submit the passport which should be valid for a minimum of six months.
