DubaiMaritimeCityPort Rashid closing cargo operationsDP World further consolidates Dubai cargo handling at Jebel Ali Global marine terminal operator DP World today announces that in response to customer requests it is moving its general and non-containerised cargo handling operations at Port Rashid in central Dubai to its flagship facility at nearby Jebel Ali. Following requests from container shipping lines to move to the brand new container terminal at Jebel Ali opened in the third quarter of last year, most of the containerised cargo handled at Port Rashid has already moved to DP World's flagship terminal.

The port's role in the emirate's development as a business hub says much about Dubai's ability to think ahead of the times.
